Introduces this series which will focus on the dimensions of a quality service -safety, access, equity, effectiveness, efficiency, and patient-centeredness -considering how they might be measured and improved. Covers ways to measure the effectiveness of care clinicians provide, with articles on clinical audit and clinical indicators, and discussion of measures of efficiency used by the funders, including organisational performance indicators, and benchmarking.
